Yeah, it's a vague statement considering the current situation she was in, but the nagging sense in the back of her head was admittedly also vague. She shakes her head, shoving everything out of the way except to get there.
Running to try and save someone was far from something she's done in the past, but that's not what was triggering this ... at least she thinks so. Madsen stretches out her hand, straining to reach her destination. She summons a swath of construct swords to try and move ahead of her, the brief burst of heat a welcome feeling before shooting them off with a yell.
It's then that the environment shifts in front of her before her very eyes, a very familiar battlefield manifesting. Madsen slows her pace ever so slightly, eyes widening. "No. Impossible." She was still on-guard, keeping some of her constructs close as she continued forward. Not now, why a bleeding effect now of all times?! Her breaths quicken, flexing her fingers in an effort to try and get rid of some of this nervous energy that was manifesting in the wake of it all.
"KAIN!"
That scream was unmistakable with the pure venom in it, combined with pain and anguish. It was her own, after all. She knew exactly what was coming next.
Madsen steps forward again, knowing that staying here was going to do nothing but waste precious time. She had pieced together the events of that fateful day after she had been forced off the battlefield from a combination of shaking down the others and this very memory. Nithal had taken it upon himself to track down her brother's murderer, taking him out himself without any prodding from anyone else. He had no direct connection with the situation outside of his arrangement with Madsen, but he still felt compelled to do something despite that.
Amadi had surmised that it might've had something to do with his own brotherly feelings; it was a situation that while highly unlikely to actually happen considering what both of the brothers were, was still one of Nithal's worst nightmares come true.
Madsen charges forward, past the fight - she knew what would happen, this wasn't her battle. He did that to try and break the cycle of revenge, a cycle that she would've contributed to if she were the one to ultimately kill Kain.
The memory shatters - another trying to take its place - but a burst of flames erupts from Madsen's body, taking the shape of wings as she picks up the pace.
This feeling of deja vu, the memories of past battles literally flashing before her eyes -
She was taking the pain, channeling it into something more substantial. Nithal and her brother had done more than enough to save her. They saw something greater in her, and she wasn't going to let them down. That was part of the reason why she had joined up with Amadi after the war was over, after all.
With a yell, everything turns back to the situation at hand. The illusions shatter like broken glass, revealing the others - her squad, the people she swore to fight alongside. Her wings spread, another barrage of fire swords surrounding her, and she crashes right into the middle of it all, righting herself after the impact and looking no worse for the wear despite causing an explosion. She's later admit that it hurt like a bitch, but adrenaline was a hell of a drug.
