Jin's never said that he was perfect, far from it, really. There were many mistakes that he's made and likely will make in the future. He knows himself too well. But ... it's not like he's cared too much. At this point, Jin was just living day-to-day, not really caring what happened to him outside a few small exceptions. He had to do something. Be... someone. Or something like that.
He crouches, eyes narrowing as he watches the people below, bracing himself against the ledge with one hand while the other skimmed across the metalwork surrounding the softly glowing black stone around his neck. No sudden increase in light and heat from the pendant meant that the coat was clear for now, which was good... except for the fact that he had gotten good intel that his mark was supposed to be in this area, and they hadn't been wrong before. His hand drops to his side, fingers gripping the handle of one of his knives in preparation. Honestly, he just wants to get this job done and over with - go home and sleep before picking up another shift at the bar. Maybe if he's lucky enough after all of this, go home with someone. It would be good stress relief, at least. Jin lets out a soft hum, ready to shift again and change vantage points -
The stone starts to burn, even through the layers of his clothes, causing him to growl and curse under his breath with how sudden it was. He quickly stands, turning to face whoever had tripped his detector pendant and tried to sneak up on him, a wild grin on his face despite the probable danger. "Fucking finally...."
THe figure shoots forward with supernatural speed, hissing as JIn fings a knife at it, cutting into the palm. Immediately, they try to move away to avoid further damage, the wound smoking slightly.
"Oh no you fucking don't-" Jin follows, using his unarmed hand to try and grab at his attacker, yanking them back toward him. He squints as they struggle to try and stay on the roof during their little scuffle. The lighting wasn't the best, and their face was obscured by a hood. But fuck that, it is the mark, or an interloper?
Only one way to find out.
Their confrontation would end one way or another. Jin eventually pins the vampire, slamming his fist into the wounded hand of his target, causing it to how. There's no pity or sympathy in his gaze, only a sheer determination to unmask whoever they were. Now or never.
He yanks the hood down with his other hand, any sort of curse or reply dying on his lips as he stares at his apparent assailant. His blood ran cold, the stone laying against his chest burning like a brand. Everything feels like it's stopped as he staggers back, as if struck. After all this time, and all the walls he's created around himself, everything's shattered as of this moment.
